Diesel Mechanic

Maintain fleet of diesel tractors, equipment and trailers by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; and keeping records.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Commercial Driver's license (Class A) required, Hazmat & Tanker end. preferred
Ability to diagnose minor mechanical problems and perform repairs with supervision
Ability to operate tools and equipment involved in vehicle repair
Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts up to 50 lbs.
Ability to pass required driver safety training
Ability to operate commercial trucks
Ability to pass alcohol and drug test
Acceptable driving record
Three to five years experience in diesel vehicle repair and maintenance
RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:
o Diagnosing malfunctions and performing vehicle repairs (e.g. adjust/test steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions and oil, temperature, gas regulating components, adjust/test/rebuild engines etc.) and related assigned duties within qualification level, in accordance with all relevant Federal, State, and local guidelines and requirements.
o Test drive vehicles to ensure that repairs resolved the issues.
o Arranging for and obtaining appropriate inspections and approval of all major repairs before vehicle is released from maintenance facility.
o Maintaining a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area which includes ensuring that work area is in compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and local guidelines and requirements.
o Ability to identify and report any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary in conducting assigned repairs and maintenance including repairs and maintenance required to be performed by technicians with a higher qualification level.
o Record time spend, part used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate forms.
o Advise lead technician of unsafe maintenance conditions or practices and/or vehicle abuse.
o Perform road calls and on the road repairs as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED:
o Automotive diagnostic equipment, tire repairing equipment, small hand tools, drills, drill press, grinder, air-powered tools, welding torch, torque wrench, jacks and lift equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
o Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts. Exposed to dampness and humidity, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, and diesel fuel.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
